1. Cleanse your face daily with a gentle facial cleanser, then follow up with a great moisturizer.
Dirt and debris collect on your skin all day long. And if you don’t want it damaging and discoloring the sensitive skin on your face, a good facial cleanser and moisturizer are two of the most important skincare products you can buy.
So start your mornings off right with a refreshing face wash.
For this, we recommend our All-Natural and completely chemical-free VITAMIN C serum.
Cleanser/moisturizer duo is amazing in its ability to gently remove dirt while protecting and repairing your skin of blemishes at the same time. (Now this next tip took us by surprise…)
2. Clean everything that touches your face.
We’re talking phones, pillowcases, towels—everything. If you experience unruly skin, then there’s a good chance these every-day items are holding onto a lot of those same bacteria. So wash them often and regularly (and definitely sanitize your phone!).
Along with that, they suggest you just stop touching your face altogether.
Just think of all the less-than-stellar surfaces that our hands touch throughout the day. Your face would love it, if you would just—um—keep your hands to yourself from now on!
3. Find a sunscreen you like, and wear it!
Sunscreen isn’t just for summer days at the beach.
Harmful UV rays attack our skin every place we go, and wearing sunscreen every day is the best way to fight against sun damage and skin cancer.
So start experimenting with sunscreens to find that perfect balance of protection and comfort, just make sure it’s SPF 30 or higher.
4. Exfoliate 2 - 3 nights a week
You’ve probably heard us say this before. That’s because the amount of chemicals collecting on your skin combined with irritating oils and harmful bacteria has a serious effect on the health of your skin.
This is especially true if, like most of us, you wear makeup everyday.
But here’s what we didn’t know:
According to dermatologist Dr. Adam Geyer “Using an exfoliant at night can help reduce any immediate post-exfoliation sun sensitivity to diminish the risk of accelerating UV damage.”
And since a good an exfoliation makes your skin feel great anyway, implementing this takeaway is a no-brainer.
5. Lastly, get into the habit of removing your makeup before bed
They offer a great way to remind yourself to do this every night start leaving your makeup remover on your pillow every morning.
We all know how simple and easy this should be. But if you’re exhausted from a long day, removing your makeup can be the last thing you want to think about. Still, suffocating your skin beneath a layer of makeup for 8 hours can have some pretty disastrous effects.
